Personal Information Management Policy

Mercy Health and Aged Care respects and upholds your rights to privacy protection under the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988. The National Privacy Principles set out requirements for the handling of personal and sensitive information, including health information, and govern issues such as collection, use, disclosure, storage and maintenance, access and correction of information. These principles apply to us from their introduction on 21 December 2001.

Privacy and Health Care

Access to quality health care is an important priority for all Australians. It is also important that individuals' privacy is respected during the provision of health care and treatment services. Being reassured about privacy gives consumers the confidence to access the health services they need.
